The Magnetic Measurement Mount is the perfect tool for mapping the field inside Helmholtz coils. With two axises of motion, the probe can be positioned anywhere on a plane inside the Helmholtz coils. Built in scales allow a student to quickly measure the magnetic field along the axis of the coils, or at any other point inside the coils. The probe can be rotated 90 degrees to easily measure any magnetic fields perpendicular to the axis of the coil. With a little patience, a student can easily create a full 3D map of the magnetic field inside a pair of Helmholtz Coils.

The Magnetic Measurement Mount requires two coils to balance correctly, but the magnetic field around a single coil can be mapped by only powering one of a pair of Helmholtz coils. When coupled with the TEL-2501 Universal Stand and the TEL-2502 Helmholtz Coils (not included), the influence of coil spacing on magnetic field homogeneity can also be studied.

The magnetic measurement mount is sold both as a stand alone unit (TEL-SMS111M) and coupled with the TEL-SMS111UC Teslameter 2000 (TEL-SMS111S). The combination makes a complete system ready to measure the magnetic field of your Helmholtz coils. The Teslameter is an excellent stand alone magnetic sensor which also interfaces with a computer.
